This account of the work of the WCC Programme on Sharing and Service between 1992 and 1998 begins with a review of the vision, reflection and action that gave birth to the programme, and the strategy for jubilee.
Part two of Commitment to Jubilee. Strategies for Hope in Times of Crisis looks at the targets of this strategy: "jubilee people" - children, women, uprooted and marginalized people and those living in the midst of conflict and disaster. It goes on to examine models of sharing, of partnership and empowerment, of solidarity and practical action, and of networking and advocacy.
Part three, entitled "solidarity in action", looks at the work of the programme's regional desks, its global and functional teams, and concludes with some words on how the work might continue after the WCC's eighth assembly in Harare, Zimbabwe, in December 1998.
