Bossey Special
Offers
Ecumenical Study Groups and Spiritual
Retreats
Bossey's
exceptional facilities and wealth of ecumenical resources
can be tailored to meet the specific needs of groups of
students, pastors, church workers, or ecumenically
interested lay persons. The aim is to provide a lively
forum for discussion and encounter, focusing on the
particular interests of the group, be it a general
introduction to the ecumenical movement, the work of the
World Council of Churches, or a more specialized seminar
on a particular theme.
For such ecumenical study groups, Bossey offers a range
of services, from organizing and running an entire
seminar, including reflection and evaluation sessions and
guidance of the group process, to simply inviting
speakers and looking after practical details while the
seminar is being shaped and organized by the group itself.
With the practical assistance of our institute, guided
study tours can be organized in or around Geneva, to
other beautiful sites of Switzerland or in nearby France
(Mont Blanc, Taizé, etc).
During the academic year, when the students are in
residence, Bossey can provide board and lodging for 2-7
days to those interested in experiencing a spiritual
retreat in an ecumenical and multicultural setting. They
can participate in the community and worship life of
Bossey by attending the worship organized by the students,
by sharing meals and by having a chance to meet and
discuss with other Christians from all over the world.
They can also study in the library or simply take a walk
in the beautiful surroundings of Bossey.
Sabbaticals and Individual
Ecumenical Research
For
those interested in having a sabbatical or simply
undertaking further individual research in ecumenical
studies, Bossey offers board and lodging, free access to
its library, the possibility to engage in dialogue with
its residential professors and to take part in the
community and worship life together with the students.
The archives and library of the Ecumenical Centre in
nearby Geneva are also available.
Those interested in such a programme are advised to apply
well in advance in order to ensure the necessary
arrangements can be made.
There is no possibility to offer scholarships for these
two Bossey programmes.
Cost in CHF: Full board and
lodging for a minimum of one month 1500.-/month. For
people wishing to come for shorter periods, the Church
price for daily full board in Bossey will be applied,
according to the type of accommodation requested.
